About Violin Lessons
String instruments are an excellent and accessible starting point for young musicians as there are a variety of instrument sizes available to help with ease of play. Private lessons are also a great way to supplement group and orchestra classes as they provide tailored one-on-one instruction in an encouraging, personalized, and supportive learning environment. Instruments are available to rent from our in-house violin shop Quartet Violins.

Kayla

Kayla has been teaching students of all ages for more than a decade but music has been a serious part of her life since she first started violin lessons at age 8. She went on to play with the Portland Youth Philharmonic and has performed with several honors orchestras and choirs. Kayla studied music and psychology at George Fox University and believes that it was her performance opportunities there that opened doors to other aspects of music like songwriting, arranging, recording, and teaching. Since then, she has recorded three full-length albums and has toured with her band as well as recording with other up-and-coming Portland acts.
Kayla's Favorite Part of Teaching
“I love watching each student grow as a musician and as a person. Music teaches discipline and patience while giving joy and instilling confidence. Being able to watch and guide someone through their musical journey is a blessing.”
