About Voice Lessons
Learning to sing may seem daunting, but with proper technique and vocal training, anyone can sing. Our instructors provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment for all skill levels. Every lesson is tailored to the individual personalities, learning styles, and goals of each student.
how it works
We currently offer voice lessons virtually
Virtual Lessons
- All of our virtual lessons take place through Google Meet and are accessible on a computer, tablet, or mobile device. You do not need to have a Google account to be able to access the lesson.
- The link for your lesson will be emailed to you every Monday or can be found through your TeacherZone account.
- At your lesson time, you can click on the link and click ‘Ask to Join’ and your instructor will let you into the meeting.
- If for any reason you need help accessing the meeting, give our friendly front desk staff a call and they are more than happy to answer any questions.
In-person Lessons
For the safety of our students and staff we have made some changes to our in-person lessons:
- Students and instructors must wear face coverings during the lesson
- Hand sanitizer is available for use before and after lessons
- Please wait outside until your instructor is ready
- Lessons will end 5 minutes early to allow for proper cleaning and sanitizing of the rooms
- At this time, voice and woodwind lessons are not available in-person

Darrell

Darrell was born in Longview, Washington and started playing the piano at age 6. At age 12 he took up the violin and began singing at the age of 16. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Puget Sound and a Masters degree in Voice from Rice University in Houston, Texas. Darrell has performed in lead roles in several operas and has been featured as a violin soloist with numerous orchestras over the years.

Jenna has been singing and playing piano for over 15 years. She was born in Portland, but grew up in Central Oregon...

Jenna

Jenna has been singing and playing piano for over 15 years. She was born in Portland but grew up in Central Oregon before returning to the area for college. She attended Marylhurst University where she received a Bachelor of Music in Performance. Since then, she has performed with award winning international choirs and has been featured in many local operatic and theatrical productions. Jenna is an experienced performer, teacher and accompanist. She is a founder and Artistic Director for Voci Dorate, a local small vocal group. She firmly believes in the importance of being a well-rounded musician and emphasizes an understanding of music theory and sight reading in her lessons. She encourages all of her students to learn a variety of styles as well.

Sarah

Sarah was born in central California and moved to Oregon a week after she turned 18. Despite not being born here, she still considers herself an Oregonian. She first started playing clarinet when she was 10 years old and has picked up various other instruments throughout high school and college. She graduated from Marylhurst University with a degree in music composition and singing. Sarah has previously performed with the Mariposa Symphony at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park and currently performs with the semi-professional choir, Voci Dorate.

Kayla

Kayla has been teaching students of all ages for more than a decade but music has been a serious part of her life since she first started violin lessons at age 8. She went on to play with the Portland Youth Philharmonic and has performed with several honors orchestras and choirs. Kayla studied music and psychology at George Fox University and believes that it was her performance opportunities there that opened doors to other aspects of music like songwriting, arranging, recording, and teaching. Since then, she has recorded three full-length albums and has toured with her band as well as recording with other up-and-coming Portland acts.

Private Lessons
- $125 per month for a 30 min. lesson each week.
- One time $25 registration fee.
- 10% discount to students who take longer than 30 minute lessons or to families with more than one student.
Semi-Private Lessons
- $78 per student per month for a 30 min. lesson each week.
- One time $25 registration fee.

We offer private one-on-one music lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our dedicated instructors are experienced in customizing each lesson to fit the individual needs of each student. We have over 10 instructors teaching more than 15 different instruments, and a full-time front desk staff available for all of your scheduling needs.
