Austin, a native of Portland, Oregon, is a passionate music educator with a diverse background in music. His journey began with piano lessons, leading to playing the double bass in the 6th grade and joining a jazz band in the 7th. Austin’s love for music extended to rock, as he mastered the electric bass. He pursued a Masters in Music Education at the University of Oregon in Eugene, focusing on music composition to enhance his teaching capabilities.

In addition to his academic achievements, Austin is an accomplished musician, touring extensively across the United States and Canada with his band. He also composes music for YouTube videos, some of which have gained significant popularity. Over the years, Austin’s teaching philosophy has evolved. Initially fascinated by solving complex musical problems, he now finds the greatest fulfillment in observing his students' growth, celebrating their journey from beginners to confident, sharing musicians.
